For 30 years, Community House Mid Canterbury has been the hub for social services in the community and an affordable office space to the Not-for-Profit sector. Essential services, like Citizens Advice Bureau and Plunket New Zealand, enable the heart of our community to beat strong and proud, providing a safe and caring environment for all.
Through our Heart of the Community Appeal, you can support Community House Mid Canterbury by purchasing a heart on our Wall of Hearts, where your name or logo will be proudly displayed in the community from Monday 6 October to Friday 7 November 2025.
How your support helps
Your support will contribute to a vital building maintenance fund that will enable us to replace the leaking roof, establish a new and safe front entranceway, install double-glazed windows, and a paint the building exterior – with an estimated cost of $435,000.

MORE THAN JUST A BUILDING
Situated in a prime location in the centre of Ashburton on the corner of Cass & Moore Street, Community House offers a range of spaces for a variety of uses.
Our two buildings are home to 30 tenants offering over 40 different community services. These essential social services, like Citizens Advice Bureau, CCS Disabled Action, Anglican Advocacy, Birthright Canterbury, and Plunket New Zealand, enable the heart of our community to beat strong and proud – in a safe and caring environment for all.
We also provide causal office space opportunities, meeting rooms for hire for the community, hire of the community van, as well as network meetings, photocopying and scanning facilities.
