Community House Mid Canterbury van is available to local (Mid Canterbury) non profit/community/NGO groups at the discretion of the Trustees or Community House staff.
VAN HIRE
The van is NOT available for commercial use, or in situations where local taxis services or rentals are appropriate.
The person responsible for hiring the van is also responsible for ensuring the procedures checklist is completed – as listed below.
The hirer is responsible for the cost of damages up to our insurance excess (if any).
Standard excess = $500 Drivers under 25 Yrs excess = $1000 Drivers under 21 Yrs = $1500
Drivers must have a full license and abide by the conditions of their license. It is preferred that drivers be over 25 years. An additional excess will apply to drivers under 25 years.
A copy of the license of all drivers is required to be kept by Community House when hiring.
PROCEDURES
- The van will be collected and returned to the Community House car park.
- Bookings will be completed with Community House staff at the front desk.
- The cost of hiring the van is $60 per day up to 300km; and .50c per km above that distance. (This is subject to review from time to time).
- The van will be fully fuelled when picked up and must be returned full. (The van is Diesel).
- The vehicle checklist must be completed and returned at the end of each trip.
- A vehicle log book must be completed for each trip.
